“…but can she play?”: Blowing the Roof Off Women Horn Players and Jazz is a work-in-progress independent documentary featuring women sax and brass players blowin’ the roof off the jazz boys’ club; artists who are challenging gender biases and influencing the transformation of contemporary American jazz.

“…but can she play?”: Blowing the Roof Off Women Horn Players and Jazz gives voice to musicians to often unseen, and underappreciated, in the industry and by the public. Further, the film aims to inform and encourage girls toward careers in jazz and bolster initiatives supporting the funding of music education in public schools.
