On October 11, 1991, beloved comedian and TV star Foxx suffered a massive heart attack on the set of his new sitcom, The Royal Family. He leaves behind a collection of comedy gold — but also a string of failed marriages and a mountain of debt to the tune of $3.6 million. The debt is where Redd Foxx”s story is unlike most other celebrity death cases. His family and friends aren’t fighting over all the money he had. Instead, they are scrambling to foot the bill to pay back the comedian’s lavish lifestyle.
